Ellen Mary Noethen age 81 of Northwood, passed away peacefully at the Genoa Care Center on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Ellen was born to Charles and Sylvia (Dalko) O’Brien on October 2, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio. Ellen was married to John Noethen, who passed away on May 4, 2018, preceding her in death. Together, John and Ellen ran her family's greenhouse, O’Brien’s Market. She continued running the greenhouse with her son, Dennis, until his passing on February 29, 2024. Ellen was an award-winning artist. She created jewelry, paintings, and dolls. Always the hobbyist, Ellen stayed busy. Her family was important to her, and she loved her grandchildren and her cats dearly.
Ellen is survived by her son Brian; grandchildren Rebecca Wright and Jennifer (Joseph) Kemler; and several great-grandchildren. Along with her husband and son she was preceded in death by her parents and brother Francis O’Brien.
A private service was held with burial at Lake Township Cemetery.
