Ellen Louise Renney, age 74, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025. She was born on September 7, 1950 in Dayton, OH to the late Georgetta Crase and Bill Farthing.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her sons, Corey Gilbert and Anthony Renney and her sister, Annie Behnken.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gene Renney; her daughter, Susan (Josh) Dillion; her son, Bill (Shonda) Gilbert; her grandchildren, Seth Gilbert, Amber Dillion-Messer, Ryan Dillion, Gabriel Gilbert and Hailey (Javon) Johnson; her great-grandson, Gavin Messer; her great-granddaughter, Gabriella Gilbert; her sister, Pam (Gordon) Greider and numerous family and friends.
Ellen loved watching nature shows and classic shows from her childhood. When she was not watching The Andy Griffith Show, she enjoyed listening to Motown music and dancing. In her younger years, she was an amazing painter and impressive pool player. Ellen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family hopes those who would like to honor her will find a quiet time to remember who she was in your life. In lieu of a public funeral service, individual families are encouraged to have their own private memorial.
