Ellen Marie Shaw, a devoted educator and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Born in Grand Rapids (Kent County), Michigan, on March 28, 1939, Ellen lived a remarkable life of service and inspiration, touching countless lives over her 86 years.

Ellen dedicated her career to shaping the minds of young students, working as a teacher in the education system for many years before her retirement. Her passion for teaching and unwavering commitment to her students left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of learning from her. She believed deeply in the power of education and the potential of every child to change the world. Through her work, Ellen instilled a love of learning and a sense of curiosity in those she taught, motivating them to strive for greatness.

Preceded in death by her loving parents, Harry Daniel Shaw and Leona Bell Shaw, Ellen cherished her family and held their memory close to her heart throughout her life.

No services are planned at this time, but Ellen's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those she inspired. Mountain View Cremation & Funeral Care has the honor of serving the family during this difficult time.
