Ellen Strobel Obituary
She was born on April 15, 1928, in Russellville, Missouri, the daughter of Julius and Sedonia (Hofmockel) Buchta.
She attended Mount Hope School.
Ellen was united in marriage on November 10, 1948, in Russellville, Missouri, to Lorenz Otto Strobel, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2014.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman.
Ellen worked for the Missouri Secretary of State.
She liked to cook, garden, and helped with the VFW and American Legion Women's Auxiliaries, Cole County Extension, 4-H and was a Cole County Committee Woman.
Survivors include her children, Harold (Maryann) Strobel, Havelock, NC, Linda (Mike) Wozniak, Hendersonville, NC, and Mark Strobel, Russellville; one brother-in-law, Virgil Ehm; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lorenz; one son, Leonard Strobel; one grandson, Nathaniel Witaszek; and her siblings.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Viles officiating.
Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the VFW Post #1003 of Jefferson City or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Sunday School.
