Ellie Sutton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Liming Family Funeral Home on Dec. 18, 2025.
Ellie Mae Sutton of Greenfield, Indiana, a sweet ten-year-old sweet brindle girl of Erica and David Sutton, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Monday, December 15, 2025.

Ellie Mae was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2015 in Erica's mother's living room to her parents, Sugar, owned by Erica's mother, and Buddy, owned by Erica's sister. She was officially brought to her new home to join Erica and David when she was about six weeks old. Sutton family on July 4th of 2019.

Erica described Ellie Mae's personality as "definitely a diva; she had so much personality. She loved to cuddle and watch movies with us, and she loved to run and could jump very high, like six feet." Erica continued. "She was kind of a funny dog. She liked to sit up high on things, whether it was the back of the couch or on a stool. One time we put a treat up above the doorway, and she jumped all the way up and got it the first try; she was such an amazing dog."

One thing Erica loved about Ellie Mae was "that she always found me first when we got home, even after she went blind."

Ellie Mae left behind so many sweet memories. A favorite memory of Erica's was "when we took her to the lake with us and she loved it, she chased the fish and played with the kids."

Erica jokingly shared that Ellie Mae's favorite treat was "stealing whatever was on the kids' plates." She also enjoyed "Ol' Roy Munchy Bone Dog Treats."

Ellie Mae didn't go on many car rides, but according to Erica, she didn't seem to mind them.

As for being bathed, Erica shared, "I don't think she loved baths, but she didn't hate it or run; she was a good girl."

Ellie Mae had a few favorite toys. Erica relayed, "She loved stuffed animals, but not just one; she would tear it to shreds as soon as I gave it to her."

Ellie Mae's nickname was "Ellie Bellie." Ellie Mae's very favorite thing on this earth was her family; it is what she valued the most. Although Ellie Mae loved everyone in her family, she had a special bond with her mama, Erica.

Ellie Mae and her sweet, loving spirit will always be remembered.

In addition to his human parents, Erica and David, Ellie Mae is survived by her human siblings, brothers Eli, Axl, and Jaco, and one sister, Abbi, and grandparents, as well as fur mom, Sugar, and fur brother, Cash. Ellie Mae was met crossing the Rainbow Bridge by her fur dad, Buddy, who preceded her in death and was waiting to greet Ellie Mae.
