Ellis Kenneth Stockwell Jr. 85, a lifelong resident of Waterville passed away on Friday September 26, 2025 at McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester. He was born June 29, 1940 in Belvidere son of the late Ellis and Hersa Potter.
Ellis loved his family and friends and going to dee camp, loved boiling in Sugar Season, his friends Dallas and Maralyn Bennett, getting his wood ready for winter and mowing his lawn. He took pride in his ability to remember everything and I mean everything but most of all telling jokes, inappropriate or not you were going to hear them.
His family would like to thank everyone who stopped to visit and check in on him, to Jack who would go to just reminisce and old times, dad loved it and to Maralyn for the daily phone call checking to see if the mail was delivered or not and for putting up with his mostly inappropriate joke, he loved to hear that laugh. Thank you to everyone that helped him to continue to live at home.
He leaves behind his daughter Denise Herman and husband Scott, his grandchildren Randy Stockwell, Chad Herman and wife Megan, Shawn Hermand and wife Melinda, Shayne Gomes, Heather, Jeremy, Ashley Machia, great grandchildren Jillian, Delia, Evelynn Herman, Myles Herman, McKenna Miller, many nieces and nephews and special friends Maralyn Bennett and Jack McNally.
He was predeceased by his wife Nancy Stockwell, daughter Carla Stockwell, daughter and son-in-law Stacie and John Machia.
Per Ellis' wishes there will be no services. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Lamoille Home Health and Hospice, 54 Farr Ave, Morrisville, VT 05661.
