Ellis lived in
Newberry, SC his entire life. He was a hard worker. If you asked him at what age he started paying into his social security, he would tell you at the age of nine. Ellis was educated in the public school system until he dropped out at an early age to work. He worked at Jacks Turkey Farm, Hawkins Dairy Farm and the Text Mill until his retirement. After retiring he started his own company. Ellis was a force to be reckoned with. If you looked up the word Entrepreneur in the dictionary you would see his picture. He didnt mind working long hard hours. He dabbled in a variety of entrepreneurial occupations and charity work in Newberry County. He knew one day his labor would pay off. The fruits of his labor is what you see today, Ellis Wise Landscaping and real estate.
When he was younger he enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and hunting. On occasions when he was allowed, he would take his children for rides. He would tell them to hold on tight and not to let go. He loved it and so did they. He loved spending time with his youngest grandson Joshua and called his oldest granddaughter Shareen "The Boss." His middle son Craig was the person who ran the errands. He would call expecting an immediate response! He had two nieces Donna Faye and Sue who provided homecare. He spent the last two weeks of his life being cared for by his youngest son Terry, his wife Audra and grandson Joshua.
Ellis Wise leaves this legacy to celebrate his life Verdia Wise, his loving wife and caretaker; Mildred Cureton Wise and their four children Doreen Wise Palmer (Bernard) of Philadelphia, Ellis (Bruh) Wise Jr. (Betty Ann) of Greenwood, Craig Wise, Terry Wise (Audra) of Chapin, stepson, Gregory Long; sisters Jeannette Valdes (NJ), Patricia Ann Wells, Rosa Williams (Don Williams), Tommy Wise and Loris Wise of Anderson; grandchildren Shareen, John, Lawrence, Craig Jr, KaSandra, Myah, Jazzmine, Malik, Joshua, Teaudra, Teeka, Tyrese and Lamond; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him.
