Elmer Blakey Jr. was born to Elmer Blakey Sr. and Emma Louise (Christie) Blakey in Denver, Colorado February 15, 1950. He passed away on September 16, 2025 in Moriarty, New Mexico. He was known as “Guy” Blakey his entire life. Guy graduated from Campbell High School in Campbell, California in 1968. He then served four years in the United States Marine Corps and was Honorably discharged in 1972. He has spent most of his life living in Moriarty as a pipe fitter and welder. He was a long-time member of Pipefitters Local Union 412. He worked on the power plants in Farmington & he worked in Los Alamos for 17 years and retired from there. Guy was proceeded in death by Elmer Blakey Senior and mother, Emma L. (Christie) Blakey, and brother Glenn A. Blakey. He is survived by two brothers, Gilbert Blakey (Jo) of Westminster, Colorado, Albert "Kit" (Christine) Blakey and a sister Kathy Brummit of Victor, Montana. As well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Harris – Hanlon Mortuary, 807 Central Avenue, Moriarty, New Mexico. Internment service will follow at 1:30 P.M. at Santa Fe National Cemetery – 904, Santa Fe, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Community Store House. 1719 4th St. Moriarty NM 87035 or charity of your choice.
