Elmer Leon Wasmer was born August 18, 1947 in Lebanon, Missouri to James L. and Grace Elizabeth Armstrong. He passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri. He was seventy-seven years, ten months and twenty-six days of age. Elmer was raised in Lebanon and Laclede County and following his schooling, he entered the workforce as a mechanic for Firestone and Goodyear. He later was a truck driver for several years. He closed out his working career as a tree trimmer with a tree service. On July 29, 1970, Elmer was united in marriage to Donna S. Frost. They shared nearly fifty-five years of marriage together and built a life of love and cherished memories. Elmer is preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Wasmer; his brothers, Gene, Jerry, and Kenny Wasmer and an infant brother; and three sisters, Faye Chastain, Velma Layton and Margie Galbreath. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna, of the home; two sons, Joe Wasmer and his wife Teena and Carl Wasmer, all of Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters, Rana (Nae) Fluhrer of Lebanon, Missouri and Rebecca Jenkins and her husband Paul of Corpus Cristi, Texas; four grandchildren, Austin and his wife Shelby, Tyler and his wife Haley, Hunter and Christian; five great-grandchildren, Remy, Scarlet, Jolene, Krew and Huck; his brother, Carl Pruitt of Richland, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends. Elmer had professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Community Baptist Church. He loved his Lord and Savior and enjoyed his church family. Elmer enjoyed Bronc riding and being outside hunting and fishing. He also liked going to drag races. He was a car guy and appreciated the motors that were built in the drag cars. Elmer loved his family very much and enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as often as possible. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Elmer Wasmer will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Holman Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon, MO. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. A memorial has been established and contributions can be made at Holman Howe Funeral Home.
