Elnora Marie Jupiter Chase

Chase, Elnora Marie Jupiter (Age 76) of Annapolis, Maryland formerly of Newburg, Maryland.

On Thursday, February 26, 2009, Elnora Marie Chase received her heavenly calling and peacefully departed this life at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland.

She was born on November 27, 1932, to the late Arthur and the late Lucinda Jupiter of Wayside Maryland. She attended the public schools of Charles County, Maryland, graduated and continued her education at the Charles County Community College in La Plata, Maryland, graduating in 1985 with a certificate in Geriatric Nursing.

Elnora was member of the Shiloh Community United Methodist Church, Newburg, Maryland. Her unquestionable faith and love for God was monumental as was her love for her family. She raised her children to love God and put him first in all that they do and to remember, Through him, all things were possible.

She was an awesome mother, grandmother and great grandmother, unique in her own right. She was very active in her grandchildren and great grand children’s lives. She helped to raise her older grandchildren.

Reading her bible daily made her so knowledgeable that she could quote you a scripture for any situation you found yourself in. Helping others brought her such joy and comfort. She faithfully met with her bible partners weekly at her home, since her health did not permit her to attend regular church services.

Elnora loved all green plants and had a green thumb, she could take a wilting plant, care for it and it would grow into a beautiful plant.

Her marriage to Wilber Calvin Chase expands for several decades, his exceptional love for her and dedication to her and her children is undeniable.

She was the glue that held her family together; we will truly miss her wisdom and gentle spirit.

In addition to her parents, Elnora was preceded in death by her children, Estelle I. Thomas, Pedro C. Thomas and William P. Thomas.

With loving memories Elnora is survived by her husband, Wilber Calvin Chase, seven children, Hillery J. Thomas, Jr., Cindy P. Thomas, April S. Thomas, Debra D. Thomas, David C. Thomas, Nanette P. Thomas and Nathan P. Thomas, Sr., thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grand children, one son-in-law, three daughters-in-law, four sisters-in-law, seven brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Shiloh Community Methodist Church, 12610 Shiloh Church Road, Newburg, Maryland from 10:00 am until time of Service, 11:00 am. Her Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Thornton Funeral Home, P.A. Pomonkey, Maryland.
