Eloise McMillan Chesser, 79, of Folkston, GA passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born September 18, 1943 in Surrency, GA to the late Rev. Clarence McMillan and Leona Mock McMillan. She attended high school in Charlton County where she met her future husband, Raymond Eugene Chesser. She was a member of Philadelphia Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, canning fruits and vegetables, growing flowers and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson: Ryan Chesser and a brother: Larry McMillan.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Gene Chesser; 2-sons: Mark (Cathy) Chesser, of Folkston, GA and Russell (Traci) Chesser, of Auburn, AL; Sisters: Linda Roddenberry and Penny (Ronnie) Manning; a brother: Amos McMillan; 4 grandchildren: Rebecca Coon, Reece Chesser, Will Chesser and Harrison Chesser; 3-great grandchildren: Harlow Coon, Everlee Coon and Tanzie Coon and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 13 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home with Rev. Parnell Aldridge officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery.
