Eloise A. Martz, 78, of Norway passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Marshfield Medical Center - Dickinson. Eloise was born in Marquette on Dec. 1, 1946, daughter of the late Earl and Laura (Wittler) Grimes. She graduated from Graveraet High School in 1964. The birth of her daughter motivated Eloise to continue her education at Northern Michigan University. After graduating from NMU, she worked for nearly 20 years at Champion International. Eloise had a very creative and observant side that she expressed through her sewing and photography. She especially enjoyed exploring local waterfalls for her photography. She also enjoyed swimming at the YMCA or cozying up at home with a good book. Eloise possessed a quiet strength that was apparent to all those around her. Eloise will be deeply missed by her daughter, Denise (Corey) Jackson; grandson, Joshua Jackson; 3 siblings, David (Sue) Grimes, Gail Nesbit, and Paul Grimes; brother-in-law, David Schierenbeck; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Eloise is preceded in death by 6 siblings, Joanne (Jerry) Salisbury, Sally (Richard) Cherette, Robert (Mary) Grimes, Daniel (Leslie) Grimes, Nancy McGregor, and Mary Schierenbeck; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry Nesbit and Adele Grimes. Visitation will be at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on August 30, 2025, with Pastor Paul Agenten officiating the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Eloise's name to benefit the Dickinson County Cancer Closet. Condolences may be expressed to the family of Eloise A. Martz online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com. The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
