Bernard J. "Crane" Querio, age 91, of Iron Mountain, MI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in Green Bay, WI, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 23, 1934, in Iron Mountain, Crane was the son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Weston) Querio. He graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1953 and remained a lifelong resident of the area. Crane proudly served in the United States Army for two years as part of the 813th Engineering Supply Division. After his military service, he began a long and dedicated career with the United States Post Office, retiring in 1994 after more than 30 years of service. On January 22, 1966, he married Judi Nelson at First United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain. Together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, family, and deep companionship. Crane enjoyed the simple pleasures of life - spending time with his family, traveling, fishing, and gardening. He also was a passionate fan of the Green Bay Packers and Michigan State Spartans basketball. Crane and Judi enjoyed wintering in Casa Grande, Arizona, for 25 years. He was known for his steady presence, kind heart, and quiet strength. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judi; three sons: Harold "Tim" (Wanda) Querio of Florida, David (Valory) Querio of Arizona, and Steve (Nicole) Querio of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and seven cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Crane was preceded in death by his sisters: Loretta VanNess, Alice Kanska, Marjorie Stephens, and Jeanette Granquist and their husbands, as well as a brother-in-law, Richard Nelson and a sister-in-law, Sandy Bridy. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 4 from 10:00 AM-12:00 noon at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home.
