Judith Ann Querio, 87, of Iron Mountain, MI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in DePere, WI, surrounded by her loving family. Judi was born July 16, 1938, in Green Bay, WI, a daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Frisque) Nelson. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1956. Shortly after graduating high school Judi moved to Chicago, IL, to pursue an education in cosmetology to fulfill her dream of becoming a beautician. After her certification, Judi moved back to the Iron Mountain area to be close to family and friends and practiced her trade, ultimately opening up her own shop. On January 22, 1966, she married Bernard "Crane" Querio at First United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain, and together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, family, and deep companionship. Judi worked at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home for many years as a secretary and hairdresser. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain. Judi enjoyed crafts and doing needlework, especially cross stitch and sewing. Judi and Crane enjoyed wintering in Casa Grande, Arizona, for 25 years, and together they loved to travel. She was an excellent cook, loved spending time with family and friends and loved to make people laugh. Judi is survived by her three sons: Harold "Tim" (Wanda) Querio of Cedar Creek, FL, David (Valory) Querio of Tucson, AZ, and Steve (Nicole) Querio of Green Bay, WI; eight cherished grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Judi was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Bridy of Wisconsin; a brother, Richard Nelson of Wisconsin; 3 brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 noon at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home. Pastor Mike March will officiate. Lunch will be served at the funeral home after the services, and burial will follow at Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. The family would like to recognize and thank the caring staff at Oak Park assisted living in Green Bay, WI; Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, WI; and the Unity Hospice team including the Jack and Engrid Meng Hospice Residence in DePere, WI. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Options For Independent Living in Green Bay, WI, in Judi and Crane's name. Condolences to the family of Judith Ann Querio may be expressed online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com. The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
