She is the adored mother of Kathy (Rob) George, Beth (Paul) Kaski, Michael (Katie) Querio, and Peg (Oak) O'Connell; A fond grandmother of Ryan (Michelle) George, Zac George, Blake George(Mary Dunne), Kelsey Kaski (Colleen Rathz), Tyler Kaski, Brittany Sikorski (Greg Madonna), Mason Querio, Malachy (Mac) O'Connell and Molly O'Connell; proud great-grandmother of Easton, Harper, Shane, and Logan. Dear sister of her precious baby brother, Jimmy Potter.
Mary retired from JCPenney as a Loss Prevention Manager in 1999. She started working there in 1980 as a part-time job. During all the years her children were growing up, she ran the PTA and enjoyed volunteering for many organizations. Her biggest accomplishment was being the chairwoman of the Frankfort Fall Festival for several years. Mary was immensely proud of her four children and there was nothing she loved more than being with them in various states she called home. Mary very often dialed them up several times a day to talk and stay connected. Her grandkids were her happiness, and if you were fortunate enough to know Mary, you heard this constantly. Mary was honest and a deeply kind human who touched so many. Her list of friends seems endless, including her kid's friends and even her grandkid's friends! Her joy was contagious and countless laughs were shared over coffee and drinks with all those Mary loved.
A very special THANK YOU to the entire staff at Joliet Hospice/Lightways Home. The staff truly are angels in disguise. Mary adored each and every one of them and could never thank them enough for her amazing care. Mary was the recipient of incredible care for 80 long days at Joliet Hospice/Lightways Home. She was treated like a queen every single day by all those that cared for her.
