Elouise Syfert, 93, of Keosauqua, IA passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2024, at the Keosauqua Health Care Center in Keosauqua, IA. Cremation has taken place with a celebration of her life to be held at a later date. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Elouise Muntz Syfert was born on November 17,1930 in Farmington, Iowa, the daughter of Frank E. and Zoe Etta (Swift) Muntz. Upon graduation with the Farmington Class of 1948, she was employed at the Bonaparte, Iowa glove factory. On April2,1950, she was united in marriage to Rex S. Syfert at her parents' farm.
Elouise enjoyed gardening and with her green thumb, grew many beautiful flowers. She was also a wonderful cook, and her pies and fried chicken were her specialty. She enjoyed family picnics either at the Farmington Indian Lake Park or along the Mississippi River.
Elouise is the twin of Louise Rider. Between the 7 children Elouise had (5 boys and 2 girls) and Louise had (5 girls and 2 boys) there was always a lot of fun and of course, chaos when the two families were together!
Elouise was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rex, son, Rodger and daughter, Lory.
And, son-in-law, Jack Branscom. Her brothers, Kenneth, Elwin, Harold, Keith and sisters, Elsie Bowers, and Josephine.
Elouise is survived by four sons, Ardith (Linda) of Jefferson City, MO, Jerry (Joan) of Keosauqua, Dennis (Diana) of Birmingham and Dr. Richard (Lisa) of Bettendorf, Iowa. A daughter, Susan Branscom of Kirksville, Mo; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; her twin sister, Louise Rider, as well as many extended family and friends.
