JR was born on January 27th, 1979 in Deming, New Mexico to Eloy and Versa Salaiz. He grew up in southeast Texas and was a beloved son and brother, known for his sweet and gentle soul, kindness, and beautiful smile. He was cherished by anyone who met him.
JR found joy and fulfillment in spending time with his family, going out to eat, and listening to music. Some of his favorite foods were Gringos, Texas Roadhouse, mom's meatloaf, and menudo. He loved listening to tejano, country, classic rock, and his sister's singing.
