Elsen E Bailey, Jr., "Eddie", born on June 24, 1957, in Dallas, TX went home to be with
the LORD on April 4, 2025, he was 67 years old. He was the son of Elsen E Bailey, Sr.
of Oklahoma and Doris Jones of Farmersville, Texas.
Eddie was a lifelong resident of Alvarado and a graduate of Alvarado High School in
1976. He was known for his jokes, nicknames, and bringing laughter to all. For decades,
he worked as a carpenter, remodeler, and painter in countless homes throughout
Johnson County. Many people have been blessed throughout the years by his ability to
create beautiful homes. He was also an avid gardener with his wife Sam. His love for
nature and plants was evident in his ability to bring beauty to any outdoor landscape.
He also loved fishing in his earlier years. And if you asked, he would tell you plenty of
tall tales about his time on Lake Whitney. And every now and then, he would hit a pretty
mean lick on the guitar. He and his wife also enjoyed dancing together.
He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. We would like to encourage everyone
with these scriptures, as highlighted in his bible: Psalm 51, Romans 8: 1-4, and
Ephesians 2: 4-10.
Eddie is preceded in death by his mother Doris and father Elsen Sr.; Stepfather Wendel
Dyess; sisters Ann, Elaine, and Michelle; Brothers-in-law Larry Carroll and Allen
Robison; Son-in-law Bennie Wright; and Grandson Tre Wright.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Hortensia "Sam" Bailey of
Alvarado. Sisters Glenda Robison and Wendy Mix. Children: Tami Wright, Clint Hayes,
Joshua Faulkner and wife Cheri, April Meza and husband Val, Amanda Bailey, and
Cody Bailey and wife Christina. Grandchildren: Val Meza III, Morgan Alvey, Tana Wright,
Zane Bailey, Ethan Meza, Ashlyn Bailey, Sidney Meza, Breanna Wright, Payton
Faulkner, Noah Hayes, Elizabeth Bailey, Boston Scallan, and Hayden Faulkner. Great-
Grandchildren: Mason Alvey and Charlee Alvey. He also leaves behind many extended
family members, friends, and acquaintances. And lastly, his loving dog Sammy!
A memorial service will be held at Clayton Kay Vaughn funeral home on Friday, April
11th, 2025, at 12pm. (200 E Patton Ave, Alvarado).
Please note, in keeping with his wishes, there will not be a viewing.

I graduated from AHS in May 1976. Eddie was always a friendly, and good guy and I liked him. A cool guy. I always thought so, and now he joins quite a few of my former classmates who have perished. That long Walk, the Journey. We all take it. Hope to see my old classmates when I get there. Take is easy, Eddie.
