Coteau - Elsie Breaux Armentor, 89, a very kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 2, 2023, surrounded by her family, who were by her side throughout her illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, in Coteau. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Matthew Hebert will be the Celebrant.
Visitation will be Friday, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Saturday, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.
A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday.
A native and lifelong area resident, Mrs. Armentor was born on December 29, 1933, to the late Michel and Anna Jackson Breaux.
Elsie was a woman of immense warmth and love. Her family meant the world to her, she dedicated her life to caring for them. As a devoted wife to her late husband and a nurturing mother to her children, she exemplified unconditional love and selflessness.
In her free time, Elsie had a few hobbies that brought her immense joy. She loved going to the casino, where she enjoyed the thrill of the games and the company of good friends. Playing cards, especially bouree, was another passion of hers. She also had an appreciation for French music and Cajun dancing, finding solace in the lively rhythms that echoed through her soul. When she just wanted to relax, you could often find Elsie watching TV game shows.
Elsie Breaux Armentor will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Her loving presence, kind heart, and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many. May she rest in peace and may her memory forever be a guiding light for her family and friends as they carry her legacy forward.
Survivors include her children, Sim J. Armentor, Bill Armentor (Deborah), Farrell Armentor, and Michelle Armentor; daughter-in-law, Patty B. Armentor; grandchildren, Craig Armentor, Ryan Armentor (Heather), Toby Armentor (Monique), Beau Armentor (Natalie), Brandi Armentor, Misti Segura (Cory), Keith Armentor (fiancé, Morgan Romero), Nicholas Boudreaux (Terrie), and Michael Patton (Courtney); 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and one due to arrive later this month; and Katherine Viator, who was like a daughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Sim A. Armentor; a son, Keith Armentor; grandson, Jarod Boudreaux; daughter-in-law, Kerry Barrilleaux Armentor; and siblings, Alvin Breaux, LeRoy Breaux, Michael “Mike” Breaux, and Collins “Cot” Breaux.
The family would like to give special thanks to Sandra and Francine with the Council on Aging, Grace Home Health, Jamie with Palliative Care of Acadiana, and Laura, Mallory, and Marcie with Hospice of Acadiana.
