Elsie Mott Haradon, age 97, of Pickens, passed away on October 10, 2025.
She was born to Benjamin Franklin and Lena Feitz Mott. She was married to her loving husband, Richard Elroy Haradon, for sixty-eight years. She spent her time raising her six kids. Elsie enjoyed reading Christian novels, crocheting, gardening, and cooking. She was known for her sausage gravy and biscuits and her fruit cakes. Elsie loved sitting on a swing with her husband, looking out over the North Carolina mountains. There, the two made a family of the Mabel United Methodist Church in Zionville. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Elsie is survived by her daughters, Jean A Stanton (Cris), Linda L Builta (Tom), Carla S Andrew, Dawn M Woodrum, Debora K Lang (Scott); her son, Richard L Haradon (Sandra); her twelve grandchildren, Tami (Randy), Melissa, Selina (Tim), Seth Stanton (Julie), Sarah Young (Darren), Christine SanFilippo, Deborah Quintas (Michael), Kylie Swede (Lloyd), Shannon Merrill (Wells), Jeremy Lang (Jessica), Ashley Lang, Angie Andrew, and Andrea Webb; her great-grandchildren, Cody (Alexis) Disinger, Cory Disinger (Heather), Carly Disinger, Caleb Disinger (Addie), Carson Disinger (Ashlyn), Landon Andrew (Alyssa), Keaton Webb, Marcus Quintas, Cadence Quintas, Rosemary Stanton, Everett Stanton, Maisy Swede, Alyssa Young, Hailey Young, Isla Merrill, and Aida Merrill; her great-great-grandchildren, Bennett, Ella Ann, Claira, Deena, Dutton, and Magnolia.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of sixty-eight years, Richard Elroy Haradon; her parents; her brother, George Edward Mott; and her sister, Verlee Hoffard.
She will join her husband in a private cemetery in Valle Crucis, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mabel United Methodist Church at 5932 Old US Hwy 421, Zionville, NC 28698.
