Elsie Edna Wilkerson

Ms. Elsie Edna Wilkerson, age 80 of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Gainesville, Florida. She was born in Fort White to the late Rufus A. and Alice Corless Lane and was a Lake City resident most of her life. Ms. Wilkerson was a customer service representative for thirty years, employed by Bellsouth in Jacksonville. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ LDS, Price Creek Ward, Lake City and loved going camping and kayaking. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Jeremy A. Wilkerson of Lake City, Tonie Marie Gainey of Glen St. Mary, and Justin Cody Wilkerson of Fort White; brothers: Melvin Lane and Ernest Lane of Lake City and Earl Lane of Fannin Springs, Florida; sister: Margaret (Billy) Loper of Old Town, Florida; six great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 11:00am, Monday, November 17, 2025, in the chapel of Guerry-Forbes Funeral Home, Lake City, with Elder Rocky Thomas and Bishop Stephen Bell officiating. Interment will follow the service at Burlington Santa Fe Cemetery, Branford, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
