Elstun Bobb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Peoples Funeral Home - Butler on Feb. 6, 2026.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elstun Newkirk Bobb, who was born on April 24, 1934, to Elizabeth and Lee Bobb in Butler, Kentucky. Elstun peacefully departed this life on February 3, 2026, at Hospice of Hope in Maysville, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Leslie Bobb, and cherished grandson, John Aaron Bobb. Elstun shared a loving marriage with Jessie Louise Caldwell, whom he married on July 17, 1954, and she survives him. He is survived by his three devoted children: Dale (Denise) Bobb, Karen (the late Bob) Yelton, and Donna (Marty) Ray. Elstun will be lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren, Lee Bobb, Sara Mangus, Clint Conrad, Eric Conrad, Jacob Hart, and Kayla Ross, and thirteen great grandchildren, Madison Bobb, Braelyn Bobb, Matali Bobb, Brenli Bobb, Blake Stephens, Makenna Mangus, Tucker Hart, Ryland Hart, Karter Ross, Piper Conrad, Kennedy Conrad, Davis Conrad and Jessa Conrad, each of whom embodies the legacy of love and compassion that Elstun instilled in his family.

A dedicated veteran, Elstun honorably served as a combat medic in the United States Army during the Korean War from July 28, 1952, to July 27, 1955. His exemplary service earned him the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, as well as the Good Conduct Medal. Following his military service, he devoted himself to farming, where he raised cattle, hay, and tobacco. He also held a position at Griffin Industries as a truck driver, advancing to the role of fleet manager. Upon retiring on April 24, 1996, Elstun embraced life fully, relishing years marked by travel, fishing, and treasured moments with family. His warmth, wisdom, and kind spirit touched the hearts of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Elstun's remarkable life will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, with visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service officiated by his son, Dale Bobb, at People's Funeral Home in Butler, Kentucky. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Elstun's final resting place is Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Butler, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to Hospice of Hope, Inc., 909 Kenton Station Dr., Maysville, KY 41056, or Harvest Community Church, 109 E Shelby St., Falmouth, KY 41040. As we gather to honor Elstun's life, may his spirit guide us, and may we cherish the memories of his love and kindness as we move forward.
