In Loving Memory and Honor of Elva Lee "Elvie" Gauchat (July 17, 1945 – July 5, 2025)
Elva Lee Gauchat, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5th at the age of 79. Born on July 17, 1945, she lived a life rooted in love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She married her true love, John F. Gauchat, Jr., with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond. Together, they built a life filled with love and resilience. After John's passing in 1979, following a long battle with heart disease, she courageously continued to raise their three children: Stephanie D. Gauchat (Clint Hugghins), Robin A. Thompson (Rusty), and John F. Gauchat VII (Buffy) with grace, faith, and fierce dedication.
She is reunited in peace with John F. Gauchat Jr (husband), Henry Crawford Webb (father), and Cora Evelee (Carden) Webb (mother), Richard and Lucy (Morris) Carden (grandparents), and James and Minnie Webb (grandparents).Her legacy lives on in her eight grandchildren: Tim Chilcott (Amanda), Nicholas Chilcott (Shelby), Laura Chilcott, Raul Gauchat, Emmanuel Gauchat, Stephanie Thompson, Rusty Thompson, Raigan Gauchat, John F. "Ricky" Gauchat VIII, Keith Whidden (Carly), and five great-grandchildren: Wells Chilcott, James Daniel Kirkland, Mazzy Jane Gladstone, Robin Renee Kirkland, and Fox Bradley Whidden each of whom brought her immense joy and pride: She will be remembered for her enduring strength, kind heart, and the love she gave so freely.
Elva was a graduate of Bay High School and the University of West Florida. She was a local Cosmetologist for many years and a retired Cosmetology Instructor from Tom P. Haney Technical College.
Elva loved deep-sea fishing, the beach, bingo, and the Ocean Opry music.
She leaves behind a family who cherishes her deeply and a life that touched many. Her warmth, wisdom, and quiet courage will never be forgotten.
A memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Jerry Adcock of Wings of Love Ministries at 3:00pm Monday, July 14th at Heritage Funeral Home, 247 N Tyndall Pkwy,
Panama City, FL., followed by interment at Callaway Cemetery (116 N Bob Little Rd,
Panama City, FL) All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and celebrate her life. The Family will receive friends at Heritage Funeral Home beginning at 2:00pm.
Pallbearers will be John Sword Jr., Bobby Beard, Shannon Webb, Robby Jeter, John Jeter, Eric Sword, Travis Sword, and Jason Jeter.
Following the service, a reception will be held at 609 Windy Ln,
Panama City, FL 32405.
