Elva Lloyd

Elva Lloyd, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025, at The Laurels of Massillon. She was born in St. Paul, Kentucky, on August 29, 1940, to the late Wilford and Helen (Johnson) Riggs.

In 1950, she became a resident of the Canton area and remained there for the rest of her life. She was a 1959 graduate of Canton McKinley High School, after which she continued her education to become a nurse. She retired in 1991 from the SCCAA Head Start program, where her caring nature touched many young lives.

Elva was very active in the community. She was a member of the Buckskin Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Tommy Riggs, and son-in-law, Ron Selway.

Those left to cherish her many memories are her husband of 63 years, William H. Lloyd; daughter, Robbin Selway of New Philadelphia, Ohio; son, William T. (Vicki) Lloyd of Mapleton, Ohio; nieces Janet, Jennifer, and Julie, and many other beloved family members.

A visitation will be held for Elva on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Sanders Funeral Home. Elva will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Louisville, Ohio.
