Elva Georgina Valdez Romero, formerly of Cuenca Ecuador, died on August 8, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 93 years old. She had a long and wonderful life. She was born in Cariamanga, Ecuador on November 17th, 1931, to the late Carlos Valdez and Carmelina Romero. She was the wife of the late Segundo Pardo, who predeceased her in 2021, after 75 years of an exemplary married life.
She was a talented handcraft artist who received many recognitions and awards both in and out of the country. She was an avid gardener who loved outdoors, spending many hours in her vegetable, herb and beautiful flower gardens. She was an amazing cook and loved to host wonderful gatherings for her family, friends, and neighbors. Elva possessed a heart of pure gold, radiating boundless love, kindness, and generosity to all who crossed her path. Though delicate in stature, she possessed a fierce and unwavering spirit, meeting every challenge with resolve and triumphing over each goal she set before her. She was a devout Catholic whose faith was unwavering.
She devoted much of her life to lovingly raising her family, with her husband, as they nurtured and guided their seven children. Hilda Marina Key, predeceased of her death and husband Andrew Key of Pembroke, MA; Livio Pardo of Ocala, FL; Elva (Yolanda) Howard and her husband Dwight Howard of
Hanson, MA; Irma (Esperanza) Pardo (Howard) and her husband David Howard of
Hanson, MA; Modesto Pardo and his wife Cecilia Encalada of Cuenca, Ecuador; Sonia Pardo de Medina and her husband Jose Medina of Bayonne, NJ; Olga Valdez of Cuenca, Ecuador. In addition to her loving children, she is also survived by her sister, Amada Valdez of Quito, Ecuador; and two brothers Cristobal Romero of Guayaquil, Ecuador, and Angel (Feliciano) Romero of Brooklyn, NY; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
For over the past 50 years, she cherished every precious moment in the company of her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life, filling her days with joy, her heart with smiles, and her soul with a treasury of beautiful memories.
The Family of Elva Valdez Romero would like to thank the wonderful end of life care she received, and all the support provided from the Norwell VNA Team.
Family and friends are warmly invited to gather at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan Street,
Hanson, MA, for visitation on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow immediately thereafter.
