Elvin E. "Bucky" White, Jr., 66, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday August 30, 2023 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Fort Wayne on January 21, 1957, the son of the late Elvin E. "Buck" White, Sr. and Naomi (England) White. He graduated from Northrup High School and Indiana Wesleyan University. He married Kathleen (Stoody) White on October 21, 1978; Kathy survives after 44 years of marriage. He retired as Comptroller for Challenge Industries and was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Parish and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He served as a Board Member of the Indiana Association of Workers for the Blind. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR, as well as coaching softball; he cherished the times he spent with his family & friends and truly enjoyed his children & grandchildren, attending as many of their games & events as possible. Bucky was known as kind & caring, and possessed infectious laughter. Survivors include his wife Kathy White, and their daughters, Nicole (Cory) Federspiel of Gaylord MI and Brittany (Dustin) Screeton of Grabill, and their granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Madison & Olivia Federspiel, and Emerson & Riley Screeton. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Patricia Stoody of Fort Wayne; sister, Karan (Steve) Coomer of Monroeville and brother, Ken (Julie) White of Roanoke. He was preceded in death by his parents and also his father-in-law, John Stoody. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Thursday September 7, 2023, in St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd. with visitation in the church from 9:30-10:30am. Visitation is also on Wednesday September 6, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with the Rosary recited at 2:00pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. The family's preferred memorial is the Indiana Association of Workers for the Blind, 1730 Colony Dr., Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
