Elvira Siciliano

Elvira Siciliano passed away on October 17, 2024 at the age of 92 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 16, 1931, in Ardore, Italy to John and Maria Catanzariti. In 1950, she moved to Dearborn, Michigan and resided there for the rest of her life. Elvira married Frank Siciliano on January 6, 1951, and was married for over 43 years until his untimely passing in 1994. Together they had five children, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her, and she looked forward to any occasion where her family would be together. She was extremely loving and unselfish, always putting the needs of her family and friends ahead of her own. Elvira was an excellent cook, and those fortunate enough to know her can attest to the delicious meals that she made. No one ever left her house hungry. She never followed any recipes, but cherished teaching her children and grandchildren how she canned tomatoes and prepared her meals so that her cooking style could be carried on for generations. She was also proud of her Italian heritage and enjoyed listening to Italian musical artists as it reminded her of early beginnings. Elvira was a longtime member of the Altar Society at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church.
Besides her husband, Elvira was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, the late Josephine (the late Donato) Pelino, and her great grandson, Crosby Sullivan.
She is survived by her children, Philip, John (Mary Sue), Carol, Mary (Tom) Grissen and Joseph (Lynn) Siciliano, her grandchildren Nicholas (Cecilia), Katherine (Alex), Elisabeth (Connor), Michael, Eric, Laura, Anthony (Victoria), Alexandra and Maria, and her great-grandchildren, Seba, Noemi, Eleanor, Delaney, Simone, Joseph and Julian.
Elvira was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many, and will be deeply missed.
Visitation is Friday, October 25, 2024 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with Eulogies at 6:00 p.m. and a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Dearborn Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 23701 Ford Road, Dearborn, Michigan 48128, (313) 278-5100. In state Saturday 9:30 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection to follow at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 3965 Merrick St., Dearborn Heights, MI 48125. Entombment St. Hedwig Cemetery.
