Genevieve "Jean" Voran (née Lake), passed peacefully into heaven at her home in Canton, MI. on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the age of 102. She is survived by her four daughters, Sherri (Greg Nowak), Diane, Debbie, and Karen; her four granddaughters, Jennifer (David) Owen, Heather, Chelsie, and Laura; her two great-grandsons, Jude and Luke, and her little dog Bailey. She was the best Wife, Mom, Gramma and GG (Great Gramma) ever. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Voran; her parents, Adam and Frances Lake; her brothers, John and Walter; and her sister, Wanda Sobieski. Jean is also survived by many other loving family and friends.

Jean was raised in Dearborn, MI, and met George through dancing. After marrying, they raised their family in Dearborn Heights and continued sharing their passion and graceful talent for dancing, whether it was ballroom or later, square dancing. They were involved with selling, as well as taking, Shaklee Products. After George's passing, Jean continued selling and taking products to help her and her customers stay healthy. Jean was a smart, strong, loving, kind, generous, and giving person. She had a wonderfully funny, subtle sense of humor that she presented in a quiet manner that was never mean or demeaning. She was a natural and compassionate listener. Jean was very active in her daughters' lives growing up and continued to support "her girls" in various activities. As adults, she worked alongside them in support of multiple Girl Scout "Mall Madness" events and the Livonia Relay for Life. Jean was well-known through attending events at the Livonia Spree, the Livonia Arts Commission, and the Livonia Symphony in which her daughter was involved.

Jean loved flowers, and her daughters made sure that she enjoyed them often, whether cut flowers, or summertime potted plants. Many people got to know her through Facebook posts and looked forward to seeing her with her flowers. Jean was an extremely strong woman who loved life. She battled cancer many times, beating it each time with her strength and God's grace. Although she battled dementia in the last years of her life, her true personality would burst through occasionally in the comfort, security, love, and care provided in the safety of her home. Jean was dearly loved and her passing leaves thousands of cherished memories and a tremendous void in many hearts and lives. Jean is now in Heaven with Jesus, watching over and caring for everyone, as she did for most of her life.
