Mark McKay Grayell (68) passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on August 18, 2025.

He was born in Detroit on November 24, 1956 to the late William and Dorothy (Sweet) Grayell. He was a lifetime resident of Birmingham, MI.

He graduated from the Detroit College of Law and was admitted to the Michigan Bar Association in 1989. Mark worked as a plaintiff personal injury attorney throughout the Metro-Detroit area. He recently retired from Bernstein & Bernstein after over 20 years of dedicated service.

Mark is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Daena, brother Scott (Catherine) Grayell, sister Lesta Grayell (Joseph Cappuccio), Mother-in-Law (Nene) Liri Mustafa, Sisters and Brothers-in Law

Zanka Gonzalez (Fred), and Sherry (Naddeem) Awada. Mark was a very PROUD Uncle to nephews

Marcelo , Ali, Hussein, and Hassan. Mark was predeceased by his parents and father-in-law Skender Mustafa.

Mark's passion in life was learning and teaching Isshinryu Karate, which he practiced for over 30 years, earning a 5th degree black belt. Mark was honored to be a Sensei.

Mark also loved being around family and friends. Holidays meant a lot to him. Each Christmas was spent with his family in Florida.

Visitation and a Service celebrating Mark's life will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 2 to 8 pm and Funeral Service on Thursday, August 21 at 10:00 am at the Voran Funeral Home - (23701 Ford Rd.Dearborn, MI. 48128)

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Crohns & Colitis Foundation are appreciated.
