Elvira Hernandez Spencer

Elvira Hernandez Leyva Spencer (Elvie), age 87, of Jackson Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3, 2025, with her family by her side.
Born in Pasay City, Philippines, Elvie devoted her life to her family.
As a young woman Elvie began her career as a teacher and later resided in Swedesboro, NJ for many years before settling in Jackson, NJ seven years ago.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Rosario and Artemio Leyva; her brother, Arthur Leyva; and her sisters, Iluminada Galvez and Carmelita Salaverria.
Elvie is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, James Spencer; her son, Michael Spencer, and his wife, Laura; and her cherished grandsons, Matthew, Connor, and Jack, who were the lights of her life. She also leaves behind her brothers, Armin and Arnel Leyva; and her sister, Perla Leyva; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Please arrive in your car at 11:15 AM at the Public Information Center and you will be directed to the appropriate cortege lane. A celebration of Life Reception will follow at La Piazza, 11 Church St., Allentown, NJ.
