Elvis Drexel Dunnaway, born on October 22, 1956, passed away on October 1, 2025. He was a beloved figure in the lives of those who knew him and will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.
Elvis was a man of many admirable qualities, with a deep love for his family that was evident in all aspects of his life. His supportive nature and kind heart endeared him to all who encountered him. He had a unique ability to move the unmovable, becoming the go-to person whenever a piano needed moving. This talent not only showcased his strength but also underscored the loyalty and willingness Elvis had to lend a helping hand.
In his leisure time, Elvis found joy in watching sports, particularly cheering on the New England Patriots and following Nascar races. His enthusiasm for these activities brought him much happiness and allowed him to connect with fellow fans, creating lasting memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fain and Jimmie Lee Dunnaway; grandson, Dominque Dudley; sister, Cynthia Standard and special father, Lloyd Beasley.
Elvis is survived by his children, Damon Robinson, Juquisha Beasley, LaStarr (Cory) Mitchell, Marcus Beasley and LaDonte Dunnaway; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; siblings, Stanley Frazier, Candace Dunnaway and Bridgett (Arthur) Reed and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial gathering in honor of Elvis will take place on October 18, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272, starting at 3:00 PM. This will be followed by a funeral service beginning at 5:00 PM on the same day. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the remarkable life of Elvis Drexel Dunnaway.
As we remember Elvis, we reflect on his character as a good man who loved deeply. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
