Martha Ann Wulf Brennan, 93, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, surrounded with the love of her family. She was born July 15, 1932, in Louisville, KY as the oldest child of Charles "Bernie" Bernard, Sr. and Mary Veronica "Mae" Stocker Wulf.
Martha found her strength in her devotion to her Catholic faith. She could be found many evenings praying the rosary and offering prayers sitting in her "Prayer Chair".
Martha was a proud 1950 graduate of Presentation Academy, retired from Citizens Fidelity Bank (PNC) in 1992 and is a member of St. John Paul II Church. Her greatest accomplishments were her love and dedication for her family, who will be forever grateful that God blessed them with the honor of her long life, well lived and well loved.
In addition to her parents, Martha will be greeted in Heaven by her loving husband, Thomas L. Brennan, Jr.; oldest son, Terry Brennan; son-in-law, Ben Elder; and siblings, Shirley Allen (Dane), Joyce Ryan, Charles "Junie" Bernard, Jr., and Carol Osborne.
Left behind with love and beautiful memories are 7 surviving children, Tim (Nora), Cathy "Catie" Elder, Peggy Conn (Kenny), Karen, Mary Beth Eskew (Tom), Therese, and Tommy (Julie); her niece Robin Rogneby (Tom), who she raised.
She was lovingly called "Mammaw" by her 10 grandchildren, Billy Thompson (Rachel), Brad McCombs (Mary Beth), Michelle Sauss (Paul), Matthew Elder (Claire), Evan Elder (Emily), Lisa Conn, Erin Brennan (Brandon), Sean Brennan, Kelli Hart and Brian Brennan; 16 great grandchildren, Zoe (Chris), Storm (Brogan), Skye, Leila, Alex, Connor, Liam, Sander, Brennan, Grayson, Luke, Blakely, Gunnar, Lincoln, Willow, and Hendrix; and great-great grandchild, Cohen. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Dale Ryan, Sr. and John T. "Ozzie" Osborne, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the 4th floor nurses and staff at Norton Audubon Hospital, along with the Hosparus staff, for their care and compassion.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 3521 Goldsmith Lane with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home 3800 Bardstown Road.
Memorial donations may be made to Mass of the Air or Hosparus.
