C. Martha Roth Perry passed away peacefully, surrounded by love and family, on Saturday, October 4th, 2025. She was born January 24, 1951 in Harrodsburg, KY to Frank and Nettie Katherine Roth. She was one of 11 children and grew up in a household of structure, laughter, chaos, and love. We know she was welcomed into heaven by her parents, in-laws, and many other loved ones who were so excited to see her.
Martha married her husband, Larry Perry, in 1976 and had 4 children; Missy (Randy) England, Jackie (Brad) Boyd, Robbie (Rachel) Perry, and Josh (Courtney) Livingston, 11 grandchildren, Hailey (Justin), Cassidy, Maddie, Tobie, Kris, Avery, Keatyn, Kinley, Anabel, Dylan, Hunter and one great grandchild, Elliott. She graduated from Presentation Academy in 1969 and Spalding University with her degree in teaching in 1973. She continued on to get her Masters degree from University of Louisville. Martha taught in multiple catholic elementary schools in the archdiocese. She was an active parishioner of St John Vianney Catholic Church most of her life and made an abundance of lifelong friends and chosen family here.
Martha had the biggest heart and to meet her, was to love her and to be loved by her. She loved everyone as though they were family and accepted you as so within moments of meeting you. When in her presence, there was no need left unmet and she was sure to provide laughter as well. Martha loved being a wife, mom, aunt and friend but her greatest joy in life was as a grandmother. Being "Nam" to her grands and all of their friends made her heart full and there was nothing she wouldn't do for her babes. She was the biggest supporter, goofiest playmate and most fierce protector of those she loved and will be very missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her celebration of life Mass will be 10 AM Friday, October 10 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4005 Dixie Hwy with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Wednesday and 2-5 PM Thursday at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son Funeral Home, 7336 Southside Dr.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Catholic Education Foundation, 401 W. Main St., Ste. 806, Louisville, KY 40202
