Funeral services for Emeric “Ricky” Bordelon, III of Long Bridge will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moreauville with Father Brian Seller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Emeric “Ricky” Bordelon, III, age 70, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at his home in Long Bridge. Emeric, known affectionately as “Ricky” to friends and family, dedicated his life to cultivating the art and science of apiculture commonly known as beekeeping. Ricky was the owner of Avoyelles Honey Company; he transitioned his business from harvesting honey to creating hives and selling queen bees. Through his business, he has shipped countless queens and hives annually across the country, helping farmers pollinate crops nationwide. His commitment to the beekeeping industry truly remarkable and commendable.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Peggy Lemoine Bordelon; his sons, Emeric “Joey” Bordelon IV (Jessica) and Jeremy Paul Bordelon (Lorey); daughter, Michelle Lee Key (Kelly); 11 grandchildren, Ali, Gavyn, Bailey, Breanna, Karlie, Dakota, Eythan, Jenna, Emily, Ella, Wyatt; 4 great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Marley, Hudson, Camille; sisters, Mary Prevost, Sandra Meyers, and Barbara Ford.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Campbell; and parents, Emeric Joseph Bordelon, Jr. and Corine Johnson Bordelon.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Moreauville from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayer service at 7:00p.m.. Visitation will resume at 8:00 a.m. until 9:45a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Moreauville.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to All Saints Hospice at 7406 Highway 1, Suite 101, Mansura, LA 71350.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Escude Funeral Home (318-964-2324) 115 Lemoine St. Moreauville, LA 71355.
