Memorial visitation for Mark Newton Dufour will begin at 10:00am until 1:00pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Moreauville. Interment will be held privately on a future date.
Mark Newton Dufour, age 62, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, in Moreauville, Louisiana. A native of Moreauville, Mark was known for his heart of gold and his ability to make a friend wherever he went.
Mark spent more than 35 years in the car dealership industry, starting his career as a salesman at Johnson Chevrolet in Bunkie, Louisiana. He went on to serve as General Manager at Hood Chevrolet in Covington, Louisiana where he dedicated over 17 years to the business and the people he worked with.
Mark’s passions were simple but full of life—he loved fishing, cooking, and especially catering to his beloved wife, Nanette. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his wife, Nanette Dufour; his brother, Mike Dufour; and his grandson, Hayden Tassin Dufour aka Junior. Mark also leaves behind his best friend and cousin, Animal, with whom he shared countless memories, laughter, and a lifelong bond.
He is also survived by his step-daughter, (aka professional taste tester in the kitchen), Tasha Mier of Covington, LA; step-son, Brandon Mier (Krista) of Madisonville, LA; step-grandchildren: Taylor Lacoste (Anna), Blayne “Lil Bit” Lacoste, Emma Mier, Caroline Mier, Tucker Mier, Sawyer Mier, Brodie Barden, Eli Barden, and Emmy Barden; step-great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Lacoste and Dallas Lacoste; and his nephews, Mike Jr., Wesley, Brodie, and Benjamin Dufour.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Marvelayne Harold Dufour; father, Maxim Dufour and son, Heath Dufour.
Mark’s legacy of kindness, hard work, and love for family will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
