Emilee Cunningham Adam, 83, long-time resident of
Wall Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at her home in Wall Township. She was surrounded by her loving family when the Lord came to take her home. Emilee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Emilee was born on November 1, 1942, in Nutley, N.J. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1960 and went on to attend Kean University where she received a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She was also a faithful member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church and attended mass virtually every week.
Emilee is now joyfully reunited with those who preceded her in death: her parents, Emily and William O'Toole; her sister, Lorrie; her aunts, Mary Frances Page and Helen Cunningham, and her uncle, Philip D. Cunningham. Emilee is survived by Francis W. Adam, her loving husband of 62 years, her cherished children, Michael F. Adam and wife Leesa, Jacqueline Adam Rible and husband David, Suzanne Adam D'Alessio and husband Jeff, her devoted brother, James T. Clark, and her seven beloved grandchildren, Julia, Amanda, Riley, Jackson, Michael, Emilee, and Mason. Emilee is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Emilee enjoyed shopping, traveling, reading, listening to Halo and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Emilee and her husband, Frank, spent many summers on the Outer Banks of North Carolina with their children and grandchildren. The memories of long summer days, eating Duck Donuts, and lots of ice cream are forever etched in the memories of the family she created and loved more than life itself.
Emilee was the kind of grandmother every child dreams of and was affectionately known as Ga or Gagi. She loved to spoil them not only on their birthdays and Christmas but every day in between. The love she poured into each one of them was enough to last them for an eternity.
Emilee was also known for her dedication and passion for teaching young children. She dedicated 30 years of her life to teaching children in private and public schools before she retired in 1999. Later in her career, she earned a master's degree in Special Education from Georgian Court College. She was a gifted teacher with an incredible ability to teach students with special needs. She started the preschool program for children with disabilities in the Lacey Township Public Schools, earned the Golden Apple Award in 1996, and impacted countless students and families throughout her teaching career. This was her legacy.
Emilee was a special soul with a lifelong devotion to Our Lord and her Catholic faith. She leaves all who knew her with a trail of beautiful memories. She was a guiding light!
