Greenville - Emiliano Gutierrez Boviall passed away peacefully at the age of 13 on July 25, 2025 in Greenville NC. Though his time with us was heartbreakingly brief, his presence filled every room with warmth, laughter, and love.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted Saturday at 10 am St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Homestead Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 7 pm at Smith Funeral Service.
Born to Jennifer Marie Boviall and Alfonso Gutierrez, Emiliano was a radiant soul who carried the best of both his parents' hearts. His mother, Jennifer, who has since passed, nurtured his compassion and gentle spirit; his father, Alfonso, remains a steadfast source of strength for their family. Emiliano is also survived by his devoted siblings: Timothy Smith, 18, a protective older brother with a tough-love heart; Elizabeth Ward, 16, a gentle and nurturing sister whose warmth mirrored Emiliano's own; and Nicolas Gutierrez Boviall, 12, his playful, inseparable younger brother. Together, they carry Emiliano's memory with fierce love and quiet strength.
Emiliano was known for his bright eyes and boundless curiosity. Whether exploring new places, making others laugh, or simply sitting in quiet conversation, he reminded us all of life's precious simplicity. He leaves behind a circle of family and friends forever changed by his light.
Emiliano made a lasting difference. His joyful spirit, loyal heart, and kind nature will always be remembered by those who loved him. We'll keep his memory alive, holding it dearly in our hearts.
