Emilio Bianco Santi, 77, fondly known as "E" and "Judge", of Highland Park, IL, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born November 10, 1947, in Pescia, Italy, Emilio came to America as a young Italian immigrant after losing his mother at a tender age. Raised by his devoted father, he grew up with a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and perseverance. Throughout his life, he found joy in returning to their family home in Italy-sharing those trips with his wife, and family where he continued to keep alive the traditions that shaped him.

Emilio proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before dedicating his professional life to public service. As a Judge in the 19th Judicial Circuit of Lake County, Illinois, he presided over juvenile court, probate matters, and many high-profile cases. Respected for his fairness, admired for his humility, and beloved for his mentorship, Judge Santi guided countless young lawyers and judges with wisdom and kindness.

Off the bench, Emilio lived life with gusto. His love for his family was fierce, and that passion spilled into everything he did-whether walking the golf course, rolling bocce balls at the Highwood Bocce Club, or playing a spirited game of poker with cherished lifelong friends. His phenomenal smile and quick humor lit up every gathering, and his friends will forever remember the sparkle in his eye when sharing a laugh or celebrating a Cubs win.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who never missed a chance to brag about his grandson Dylan's milestones. To his friends, he was not just good company-he was family.

Emilio is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Carol Santi (DeGrazia), whose enduring love story is an inspiration to all who knew them; His loving sons, Brendan Santi (Kristen) of Lake Forest and Peter Santi of Highland Park; and his cherished grandson, Dylan Santi; along with Tony DeGrazia (Lorraine) Mary DeGrazia, Garrett DeGrazia (Elizabeth) Julie DeGrazia, Gina Ressner (Matt) Nic DeGrazia, Ruth Dukala(John) Heidi Riley (Scott) Matt Roemer. Bob Beltramo (Debbie) and John Beltramo. Great Nieces and Nephews: David DeGrazia, Alex Freed, Vincent Garcia, Erin Freed and Morgan Garcia, Jackson Ressner, Piper Ressner, Francesca Dukala and Alina Dukala .

He was preceded in death by Cesare Santi, Bianca Santi, Italia Beltramo and Eva DeGrazia, Frederick (Rico) DeGrazia, Janet Roemer (DeGrazia) and Thomas Roemer.

He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, laughter, and love-a life well-lived and well-loved.

A visitation and memorial mass is being planned for the end of September. Please check back for service details.

Our hearts reach out to Carol and her handsome young men. Emilio had a smile that showed so much love. He married Dennis and I in a beautiful garden with only white blossoms. He is now surrounded by White Angels. God bless him. Carol hold your head high. He was blessed to have you always by his side.

We were saddened to hear of Emilio's death. What a wonderful man, husband, father, and friend. When we think of quality character in a man, Emilio quickly comes to mind. The world is diminished with his passing. To Carol, Brendan and Peter, we mourn with you. Love you. Toby and Larry Hollander
