Emily Beverly Obituary
Our beloved angel, Emily D. Beverly, 55, of Charlottesville, was called by God to join her parents on Thursday, November 5, 2009. She went peacefully surrounded by those who loved her.
Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on July 4, 1954, she was the beloved first born of the late Amos and Joyce Beverly. Emily graduated from Lane High School and spent her life touching other people's lives. She cared for and watched over all of her elderly neighbors until their deaths and had helped her sister with her mother in law until she got sick. Emily never knew a stranger and was loved by all. She would share her grapes, figs and tomatoes with anyone. She had many friends at the Charlottesville Free Clinic where she received medical care.
Her brothers and sisters are left to cherish her memory, Dick Beverly and his wife, Linda, Tim Beverly and his wife, Janelle, Joan Moore and her husband, Lanny, Pat Batten and her husband, Stan, Rosa Richmond and her husband, Eddie, Barbara Beverly and her husband, Eric Stone, and Becky Shifflett and her husband, Steve. In addition, she leaves her nieces and nephews, Teresa Hoffman, Lanny Lee Moore, Mark Moore, Gary Beverly, Kate Harlow, Melissa Batten, Jennifer Brown, David Richmond, Caryn Shifflett and Hannah Beverly-Stone; and great-nieces and nephews, Tommy and Jake Hoffman, Randy Moore, Amanda Batten and Gracie and Sean Brown.
She is also survived by Mike Beverly, Henry Harlow, and Ruth Ann Kirby.
She was preceded in death by Cupie Beverly.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at Rock Spring United Methodist Church in Faber, Virginia, 2 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2009.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Charlottesville Free Clinic, 1138 Rose Hill Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22903 or to the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 160, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
We want to thank the wonderful nurses and nursing assistants at the Martha Jefferson ICU for their excellent care of Emily. They were truly remarkable. We also want to thank all the doctors who participated in Emily's care including Dr. Hammond and Dr. Ansa.

Emily, you will be missed terribly. You had a hand in raising all of us, and for that I want to thank you. I guess you will be doing your "blooing" in Heaven now. To my family, I love you all. We need to remember that Emily is now with Gramma and Granddaddy and though she will be missed, she is at peace and doing what she does best...taking care of others. God bless you Emily.
