Miss Emily Cecilia Davis was born in Denton, Texas to Bruce and Lori Davis on November 12, 1995. She grew up in Denton, attended St. Paul Lutheran Church Daycare, Newton Rayzor Elementary, Calhoun Middle School, Legends Academy, and graduated from Fred Moore High School. She later attended North Central Texas College as well. She worked at Kroger on University Drive in Denton for 4 years and with her father in his business all her life.
Emily was an advertising model for various catalogs and advertising pieces since an early age. Emily's hobby and passion was recycling. She gathered material of all kinds and gave it to recycle art stores. She gathered bottles of interesting shapes and colors and gave them to a glass artist. She ran her own business making and selling dog blankets and dog toys on the internet and local fairs. She had two dogs and several turtles, all rescued from bad situations. She supported the Texas Coalition of Animal Protection and the Denton Animal Shelter, giving dog and cat toys, blankets and food to the residents there. Emily gathered and saved medical supplies and gave them to an organization called Remote Area Medical. She was in the process of gathering supplies for Ukraine.
Emily was a Brownie and then a Girl Scout in several Troops in Denton. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church and was a confirmand in 2012. She helped with projects during Vacation Bible School every year.
Emily danced with Denton Dance Conservatory for over ten years and performed many roles in "A Gift for Emma" and DDC's annual recitals. She earned an Orange Belt in Judo at the Denton Optimist Judo Club with Mike Woodson and others. She won prizes at the North Texas State Fair for her Crochet pieces, Photography, and Hot Sauce she made with her grandfather.
Emily enjoyed going to Comic Book Conventions and collected comic books. She was a kind and loving soul, always making herself available to help anyone who needed it.
Emily donated her organs to the Southwest Transplant Alliance, where she can help over 70 people. Please make donations to Denton Optimist Judo Gym, Denton Animal Shelter, and Texas Coalition of Animal Protection. Please sign up to be an Organ Donor as well.
Emily was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Mary McCrea of Temple. She is survived by her parents Bruce and Lori Davis of Denton; grandmother, Edwina White of Decatur; brother, Joseph Davis of Denton.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 22, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 703 North Elm Street, Denton.
