Emily Dolly Lavery, 78, of Vicksburg, MS., passed away on November 11, 2025, at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Emily was born on February 10, 1947, in Port Penn, Delaware, to her parents, Charles and Edna (Simpers) Rhoades. Emily worked several different jobs over the years, including bank teller, hardware store manager, marina store cashier in Utah, and service station manager. She enjoyed people and honest hard work. She was married to Thomas Lavery for fifty-six years, and together they raised four children. Emily loved her family and loved the time spent with them. Emily is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edna Rhoades. Left to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Thomas Lavery; four children, Brenda Warren (Roger Warren), Keith Thurman, Thomas Lavery, Jr (Denise Lavery)., and Robert Lavery (Jodi Lavery); twelve grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
