Emily Noe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Christian Sells Funeral Home on Feb. 28, 2026.
Emily Mae Noe, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 27, 2026. Born April 4, 1942, in Ellicott City, Maryland, she was the daughter of Elwood and LuLa Mae Britton.

At just 18 years old, she married the love of her life, Max Noe. For 65 years, was a faithful and devoted marriage built on quiet strength and deep love. Emily never worked outside the home and never drove, choosing instead to pour her life into caring for her husband and children. She trusted in his love, and he lovingly cared for her in return. Their marriage was steady, gentle, and a true example of lifelong commitment.

Her greatest joy was her family. She devoted herself to her children, Tina Gilliam and Gerald Noe (Trina); her grandchildren Cody Bellamy, Lindsey Bellamy, and Leslee Trent (Chantal); and her seven great-grandchildren - Aubree, Liam, Willow, Monroe, Brylynn, Mya, and Zaiden. To them, she was home. The kitchen was her ministry, and she was always cooking for someone. She was especially known for her cream corn and chocolate pie, favorites that her grandchildren will always remember.

Emily was a longtime member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Surgoinsville. She quietly lived out her faith through her kindness and gentle spirit. She loved time spent with her sisters taking trips all over. This was something she really enjoyed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Jean, Norma Lea, Sis, Louis, and Louie.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 65 years, Max; her children and their families; her precious great-grandchildren; her sister Maxine; a special niece, Pat; and Brad Jarnigan, whom she lovingly cared for as a child while his mother worked, embracing him as one of her own.

Emily's life was defined by love - for her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. She was gentle and steady, and the legacy of her devotion will continue for generations to come.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Emily's hospice nurse, Megan Keasling. She has a heart of gold and showed our family great kindness.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jesse Hartgrove officiating. Anyone who wishes to attend the service is asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 pm Wednesday.
