Emily Ann Wilkins Turner

Emily Ann Wilkins Turner died at Toms River Community Medical Center on November 17, 2023 of complications caused by ALS. She was seventy-nine years old.
Emily is survived by her husband of 22 years, Paul A. Turner; her sister Dorothy Wilkins Hintz of Strasburg, VA; nephew Blake Gordon Hintz and grandniece Mary Elise Hintz of Augusta, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Elmer Wentworth Wilkins and Florence Elizabeth Allen Wilkins.
Emily was born on December 9, 1943 at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. At that time the family resided in Anderson, NJ. She graduated from Bernards High School in Bernardsville, NJ in 1961 and was a 1963 graduate of Berkeley Secretarial School. Emily went on to become a licensed insurance agent and member of the NJ Association of Professional Insurance Women. She was also a member of Soroptimist International of the Americas and Barnegat Bay Power Squadron, serving in various officer positions for both organizations. She was also very active in the Forked River Presbyterian Church and always an eager participant in their numerous activities and events. Emily will be missed by her many friends and will be remembered for always trying to leave a situation better than she found it.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 2nd at Forked River Presbyterian Church, 131 N. Main St, Forked River, NJ 08731. Flowers may be sent to Forked River Presbyterian Church and condolences may be sent to Riggs Funeral Home, 130 US 9, Forked River, NJ 08731.
