Emma Gaye Street Blankenship, 82 years of age, of Oakwood, VA, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at her residence. Born January 17, 1943, in Buchanan Co., she was the daughter of the late Woodrow Street and Margie Keen Street.
Emma was of the Holiness faith, and she enjoyed quilting and cooking. Being a grandmother was her greatest blessing. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Neal Edward Blankenship; sisters Jean Dobrick, Shirley Stacy, Charlotte Ann Follin; and brothers Cart Street, Bobby Street and Lester Street.
Survivors include son Jeffery Dean Blankenship and wife Teressia of Claypool Hill, VA; sisters Wanda Phillips of Woodbridge, VA, Peggy Bailey of Rowe, VA; brothers Jack Street of Baltimore, MD, and James Davis of Rowe, VA.
She is also survived by her special grandson she raised as her own Jeffery Allen Blankenship; granddaughter Madison Page Blankenship; special friend Marissa Prater; and her loving doggie Pooch.
Funeral services for Emma Gaye Blankenship will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 12:00 noon, at Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home, Keen Mountain, VA with Pastor Tommy Dye and Pastor Larry Chafins officiating. Burial will follow at Blankenship Cemetery, Oakwood, VA.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Dean Blankenship, Jeffery Allen Blankenship, Arnold Campbell, Harold Dye, Dennis Bailey, Ronnie Hurley and Keith Blankenship.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Rowe and Grundy Senior Citizens.
The family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 6:00 p.m. with evening service at 7:00 p.m.
