Emma Louise Coleman

EMMA LOUISE COLEMAN was born Monday, June 9, 1941, in Clarksville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Mr. Willie "Dick" Anderson Elliott and Priscilla Medley Elliott. "Mickey," as she was affectionally called by family and friends, attended Central High School in Louisville, Kentucky. For a change in scenery, Emma moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 1971, with her daughter, Terri.
Mickey loved to cook. Throughout her life, she worked in a number of kitchens around Columbus. Emma also liked to give back to the community. She volunteered at St. Stephen's Community House before she retired. During her retirement, she devoted time towards her daughter, Sean, and her four grandsons, Coley, Lamar, Zechariah, and Qweysean.
Emma enjoyed fishing. One of her favorite fishing spots was at Deer Creek State Park. Mickey liked sports; the LA Lakers basketball team and the OSU Buckeyes were her favorites. Her favorite television shows were Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and for suspense, Blue Bloods and Law and Order. Emma was a nurturing person on whom you could always rely. Emma loved to travel, visiting her family in Louisville, Kentucky and Cleveland, Ohio.
Blessed with eighty-three years of life, our beloved Emma L. Coleman entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Willie "Dick" Anderson Elliott and Priscilla Medley Elliott; her daughter, Terri Coleman; grandson, Coley Coleman; her sisters, Ether Lee Curry, Mary Anderson McCloud, and Delories Jean Elliott; brothers, William "Bubee" Elliott and Wadell Jeffery "Baby Brother" Elliott.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Sean Renee (Christopher) Caldwell; her grandsons, Lamar Coleman, Zechariah Barber, Qweysean Barber, Christopher Caldwell Jr., and Christian Caldwell; great granddaughters, Caley Coleman, Carina Coleman, and Zionah Barber; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and dear friends.
