Emma J. "Lyons" Forman

Emma J. Forman, 95, of East Hanover died Thursday March 12, 2026. Born in Springboro, OH to Wilber Clay & Alice Suzanne (Dean) Lyons, she lived in Middletown OH and Newark NJ before moving to East Hanover 29 years ago.

Emma was employed as the secretary of the Third Presbyterian Church of Newark where she was the heart & soul of the church. In her later years she became a member of Kitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church and conducted Bible studies from her home.

Emma enjoyed sewing, quilting, arts & crafts, cooking, entertaining and teaching Sunday School.

Emma is pre-deceased by her husband of 64 years Joseph Forman Sr, by two brothers; Robert & Earnest Lyons, and by two sisters: Peggy Fitzgerald & Betty Steele and her grandson, Gabriel L Genitempo Jr. She is survived by her son Joseph Forman Jr. and wife Vicki, by two daughters; Peggyjane Parker and husband Edward, and Donna Jo Genitempo and husband Gabriel, and grandchildren; Jessica S. Gaughan and husband John, Jennifer L. Carlin and husband Fernando, William C Parker & wife Gina, and Gia L Genitempo, and by five great-grandchildren: Abigail and Charlotte Gaughan, and Riley, Kelsey, and Brady Parker.

A memorial service will be held March 28th at 11:00 at Kitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church, 469 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936
