Emma Kay Foster

Emma Kay Foster passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on December 15, 1997, to Stephen and Melinda (Rhine) Larsen. She graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 2016 and earned her A.A.S. Degree in Paralegal Studies from DMACC in 2017. Emma was united in marriage to Caleb Foster, whom she loved deeply, on July 12, 2025, at Grace Church. They made their home in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.

Emma was baptized at, and a member of Grace Church in Des Moines, Iowa. Grace Church is also where she and Caleb met. She volunteered in children's ministries, Ignite, Party-In-The-Park, and many other activities.

Emma loved dogs! She was a dog trainer at the ARL for many years and taught "Puppy Kindergarten" and "Good Manners." She volunteered at the ARL for Santa-N-Paws, the Easter Egg-Hunt, the Kitten Shower, and other special events. Emma also volunteered at the Blank Park Zoo. She enjoyed music, collecting enamel pins, playing board games, Iowa State Cyclone basketball, going to concerts, watching anything with Gordon Ramsay, spending time with family and friends, and a good steak dinner!

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Caleb Foster; her parents, Steve and Melinda Larsen; her grandmother, Kay Rhine of Oskaloosa, Iowa; her mother and father-in-law, Duane and Marcia Foster of Des Moines, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Rebekah Foster (Brett Thompson) of Des Moines, Iowa; an uncle, Rod Richards of Beacon, Iowa; an aunt, Debbie Larsen of Des Moines, Iowa; along with a niece, three nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Patricia Felderman, her grandfather, Donald Rhine, and her aunt, Suzy Richards.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Grace Church in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Church with Pastor Jonathan Meyer officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
