Emma Freeman Obituary
Emma Jean Freeman was born August 17, 1943 in Fentress, Texas to Wilburn Burleson and Alma Burleson. She was raised and attended school in Martindale and San Marcos, Texas. After marrying her husband Cardell Curtis Freeman they moved to Austin, Texas. To this union 2 children were born: son, Paul Jeffrey Freeman; and daughter, Regina R. Freeman.
Affectionately known as Aunt Emma, she frequently hosted family holiday gatherings at her home. Aunt Emma will be remembered as the family historian, giver of nick names, and filled with laughter and jokes. She enjoyed working at Hickory Farms, Advanced Micro Devices, and Soap Box Laundromat; and was well respected. Infact, many coworkers became lifelong friends. When not hanging out with family, Emma enjoyed playing cards and road trips to the casino.
Emma is proceeded in death by her parents: Wilburn and Alma Burleson; brothers: Wiley Burleson (Barbara), Herman Burleson, Fred Burleson, William Burleson (Betty), and Elliott Lee Burleson; sisters: Verndean Banks (Bruce), Wilma Helen Burleson, Alma Marie Walker (Almo), and Annie Jo Roberts (Harris); daughter: Regina R. Freeman; brother-in-law: Oscar D. Wade.
Emma leaves to cherish her precious memories: Cardell Curtis Freeman (husband); Paul J. Freeman (son); 2 grandchildren that she raised after her daughter's passing: Ashley Arnold and Jeffrey Flowers; Kianna R. Freeman (granddaughter); Betty Wade and Nora Bouie (sisters); Karen Greathouse (a special daughter-in-law); Garyon (GeGe) Arnold (a special son-in-law; Loraine Burleson (sister-in-law); and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
