Emma Neff Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home on Mar. 30, 2026.
Reverend Emma V. Neff, a devoted pastor, loving mother and grandmother, and faithful servant to her community, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and unwavering faith.

Emma was born on May 23, 1932, in Dighton, Michigan, to Elmo and Carrie (Roose) Davis. From an early age, she demonstrated a deep love for people and a calling to serve others, a calling that would shape the course of her life. For many years, Emma faithfully served as a pastor at Victory Tabernacle Church in Cadillac, where she became a pillar of strength, guidance, and encouragement to her congregation. Through her ministry, she touched countless lives-offering comfort in times of hardship, celebrating joys, and always extending kindness to those in need. Her dedication to her faith and her community spanned over 60 years of serving as a music ministry evangelist and a pastor in various churches. Emma was a woman who truly loved people. Whether through her pastoral work or simple acts of kindness, she made everyone feel valued and cared for. In her spare time, she could often be found parked at Lake Cadillac enjoying the views or playing her piano at home. Emma loved the gospel and found solace in her music. Her life was a reflection of her belief in helping others and living with purpose. Her family was the center of her heart; they brought her great pride and joy.

She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Rhonda Ranville (Richard Ranville) of Cadillac and Carrie Bosscher (Steve VanHouten) of Marion; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Sheena Ranville-Coyle, Travis Ranville, Trent Ranville, Dustin Bosscher and David Caeleb Bosscher; great-grandchildren, Lyndia Bosscher, Eden Bosscher, Jude Bosscher, Jacob Coyle, Samuel Coyle, and Mason Coyle; and many other loving family members and friends.

Emma is preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Carrie Davis; and her husband, Henry Neff.

Reverend Emma Neff will be deeply missed by her family, her church community, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testament to faith, service, and love, and her memory will live on in the many lives she touched. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
