Mrs. Emma Mae Pittman "Koot" a resident of Aberdeen, North Carolina and formerly of Fairmont, NC entered into rest on Sunday September 14, 2025 at Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst , North Carolina.

Emma was born on December 5, 1936 in Fairmont NC. She was the daughter of both the late John Foster Pittman Sr. and Emzie Powell Pittman. She received her education in the Fairmont School District graduating from Rosenwald High. In her senior year she was the runner-up Homecoming Queen. She was a loving person with a beautiful smile. She was a member of the First Baptist Church on North Main Street in Fairmont, NC.

After high school she moved to Newburg, New York in 1956 where she was employed at Regal Bag Company then proceeded in the Healthcare field where she was a Registered Nurse at the Elant Nursing Home formally known as Silcox Nursing Home. While in Newburg she was a faithful member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and served in many capacities. She also served as a private duty nurse before retiring and moving back to North Carolina. Upon returning home she decided upon living in Aberdeen, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Foster and Emzie Pittman, her sisters, Aline Pittman, Irene Pittman, Marie Pittman and Merrilene "Baby" Keen; two brothers, Wilbert Pittman and Worth Pittman.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories and to continue her legacy of love her children: Theresa Gant (John ) of Aberdeen, NC, Willie Thompson (Kim) of Fairmont, North Carolina, Eddie Thompson (Bettie Joe) of Fairmont, NC, and Julia Thompson of West End, NC. She leaves several grand children, Great Grand Children and also Great-Great Grand Children. She is also survived by one brother Foster Pittman (Alberta) of Newburgh, NY and two sisters, Shelby Brown and Anita Warren both of Bridgeport, New York and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
